Medi Wave 800H

The missing link in renewable energy

Designed to rival the giants of Wind Power and Fossil Fuels. Maximizing both climate impact and profitability, the best of two worlds.

Why?

  • Considerably lower cost than offshore wind/solar for same array size
  • 3-6x the power-to weight ratio
  • Double the output per sea area
  • More stable than only wind/solar, capturing higher spot prices
  • Less costly storage needed
  • Less visible
  • No noise
  • Can be much closer to land => shorter subsea cable => lowering costs
  • No harm to sea life or birds
  • Dual-functionality: Produces electricity and/or desalinated water
  • Option for onboard battery storage - and later; Hydrogen production
  • Example: Only the Canaries (50% of 2040 goal): 800 units, EUR 1.6B revenue, 2M tons CO2 avoided /year — global potential vastly higher

Unique system that combines 4 different functions to generate power and/or clean water making it the most cost efficient and flexible system.

Wave Power

One of the most efficient wave power solutions available, using known technologies and components, making it extremely cost efficient and robust compared to competitors.

Wind Power

Using the float as holder of wind turbines, and the shape of the float to increase the efficiency of the turbines, making it an efficient, cost-optimized and robust additional energy source.

Solar Power

Using the float as holder of also PV panels, complements in areas with good sun intensity. This add-on ensures that NoviOcean always produces energy, even in rare low wave/wind conditions.

Tidal Power

Using the float as holder of submerged tidal turbines, leveraging the predictable energy of tidal currents to generate more electricity efficiently.

(In some locations, and for future deployments)

Lightweight

1/3 of fixed wind, 1/9 of floating wind. Significantly reducing material and installation costs.

Efficient

Shared structure, mooring, cabling, and lease area. Maximizing resource utilization.

Cost-Effective

Lower starting price than offshore wind or solar with storage. Smart investment for sustainable energy.

Unmatched Impact: Clean Energy, High Efficiency, and Sustainability

Emission Reduction

Eliminating 7,000,000 liters of diesel consumption per unit / 2,000 tons of CO2e annually

Power & Water Output

Electricity production of 2,500 MWh/year, or desalination of 70,000 liters of water/hour

Area Efficiency

2–3 times higher output per sea area than offshore wind, 4 times more through co-location

Key to Success

Lowest Cost & Fastest Decline

NoviOcean outperforms other wave and tidal solutions, rapidly lowering costs to compete with offshore wind and solar.

Most Efficient & Scalable

With superior efficiency, NoviOcean requires less space and materials, making it the best ocean energy choice.

No Costly Storage Needed

Unlike expensive Li-ion storage, NoviOcean delivers consistent, reliable power at a fraction of the cost.

Cost reduction potential through scaling

Cost optimization plays a vital role in the deployment of the NO-MW800H system. The following table illustrates the projected cost reductions based on mass production and economies of scale:

Deployment Phase CAPEX (€ / unit) OPEX (% of CAPEX) LCOE (€ / unit)
Initial Deployment 1,500,000 3.0% 40
Proven Case 1,250,000 3.0% 30
Well-Established 1,000,000 2.5% 25

The Initial Deployment costs, and next phases, can be up to 30% lower in regions with lower labor costs.

CAPEX excludes infrastructure.
